| In previous years, the Bears have accepted mail orders for single-game tickets starting about June 1, at the Bears' ticket office. Tickets can be ordered by phone starting (in 1996) Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:00am, from Ticketmaster, or at Soldier Field (cash only). Scalping is illegal in Chicago, and there is some police enforcement of this. Scalpers often maintain large distances from Soldier Field, and charge double or triple face value. Ticket agencies may legally resale season tickets passed on to them by season ticket holders. These agencies advertise extensively in Chicago area newspapers. About 61,000 seats are reserved for season-ticket sales, with the 6,000 upper corner seats reserved for single-game sales. The waiting list for season tickets is approximately 10,000 long, and the amount that one moves up on the list each year may be as small as a few dozen or as large as 1,000. A new stadium will seriously alter these numbers. End zone seats cost $33, corner seats $40, and sideline seats $52. Every home game since a 1984 Week 2 matchup against the Broncos has sold out.
