Homestead Grays Baseball Negro League Jerseys from Headgear

The Homestead Grays was one of Negro League baseball's most enduring and popular teams, fielding professional squads from 1912 until 1950. Originally organized as a recreational, amateur club by workers at the U.S. Steel mill in Homestead, Pa. in 1910, the club became a professional operation in 1912 under the management of Cumberland Posey, a former star athlete at Penn State University.  Lettering on most models is wool felt. Some of the more expensive models (for example our 1938 Baltimore Orioles shirt) feature manual chain-stitch embroidery.

The Kansas City Monarchs, owned by J.L. Wilkinson, were one of the best Negro League teams in all history.
